⚡️ The Power of Art with Sarah Beth Solomont


🔤 Description

Attendees will participate (hands-on) and learn two art techniques. We will gain understanding and skills to appreciate how art creation builds connections with clients, as well as deepening self-awareness.

🎤 Presenter
Sarah Beth Solomont received her Master's degree in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1997. Since then, Sarah Beth has been using her creative gifts to facilitate psychological healing and deeper self-understanding by means of art, play, and other forms of self-expression in her private practice, group settings, and professional trainings.


🎯 Agenda:

  1. Introducing expressive art therapy - the use of art therapeutically

  2. How to introduce a new technique in the treatment

  3. Introduce a warm-up: scribble drawing - attendees will experience doing the activity and process in the group.

  4. Introduce art structure: bridge drawing - attendees will experience and process in the group

  5. How to process an art structure for deeper self-awareness

  1. A better understanding of how creating art helps in therapy

  2. Concrete art techniques to use with their patients for connection and self-awareness

  3. How to process art creations in treatment with patients

*Attendees will be asked to have available for themselves basic art-creating materials during the class.

**SLPs receive a certificate of attendance eligible for 1CMH credit.
